Great West offers a commercial Umbrella policy for its truck insurance policyholders to guard against unforeseen, catastrophic losses. The Great West Umbrella policy provides broad coverage to protect your company’s financial assets.

The benefits of our policy include:

  • Liability coverage for bodily injury, property damage, advertising, and personal injury claims

  • Installment payments option

  • No exclusion for fellow employee suits

  • Self-insured retention, generally as low as $10,000, for claims covered under the umbrella and not covered by an underlying policy

  • First-dollar defense coverage for covered losses when no primary insurance is available

  • Non-application of general aggregate limit to auto coverage if underlying policy also has no limit

  • Worldwide coverage

  • Broader coverage than an excess policy

  • Pollution coverage similar to Great West’s primary Auto and General Liability coverage

What Does Umbrella Insurance Cover?

An umbrella policy for trucking companies provides additional liability coverage over the limits of your existing policy. When other coverages can't cover all costs of a claim, such as an accident settlement, Umbrella coverage kicks in.

Plus, shippers will know they are dealing with a well-protected carrier. We are willing to work with you to include other-than-trucking operations such as warehousing, income property, repair shop, etc., on a case-by-case basis. An Umbrella policy also provides ease of claims handling when all coverage is with the same carrier. Claims are managed by experienced Great West adjusters.
