Great West Casualty Company offers Single-Unit Owner-Operators Workers Compensation policies as well as Monoline Workers Compensation policies through American Business & Mercantile Insurance Mutual, Inc.(ABMIM), an Old Republic International Corporation mutual company.

ABMIM is not licensed in all states but is currently available to select agents with business or agents appointed in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Utah, and Wisconsin.

What Are Single-Unit Owner-Operator Policies?

Single-Unit Owner-Operator policies are for trucking companies that utilize owner-operators. Underwriting guidelines require that the owner-operator must be leased to a motor carrier for which Great West writes both the Workers Compensation and Truck coverages. These policies are not portable; if an owner-operator breaks the lease, the policy will be cancelled.

What is Monoline Workers Compensation?

Monoline Workers Compensation policies are intended to help reestablish relationships with past Great West insureds. Because ABMIM is licensed only in the states listed above, motor carriers with locations in other states will not be eligible for ABMIM. However, the all-states coverage is available to all insureds with covered employees. These policies will be underwritten based on Great West's quality standards and will be subject to final payroll audits.
